Local Census Response Rate

Are you interested in seeing how many people in your community are responding to the 2020 Census?  As of May 1st the national self-response rate of the 2020 Census is 56.0%.  The self-response rate for Texas is 50.6%, and the self-response rate in Bexar County is 54.0%. Stay up to date with self response rates from across the U.S. on the Census Bureau website.

U.S. Preventive Services Task Force Issues Updated Hepatitis C Screening Guidelines

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) has issued new Grade B recommendations to screen all adults aged 18-79 for hepatitis C virus (HCV) in addition to high-risk groups. These recommendations come as an update to the 2013 guidelines to screen all persons born 1945-1965 (baby boomers).

STOP HCC/HCV Program Featured in CPRIT Annual Report

The Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) featured the STOP HCC/HCV program in their 2018 annual report. The Screen, Treat Or Prevent (STOP) HCC/HCV program has been funded by CPRIT since May 2015 and is led by former ReACH Director Barbara J. Turner, MD, MSEd.

Alarming new CDC numbers on viral hepatitis in the United States

Last month, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released new surveillance data on viral hepatitis in the United States.
