As the number of cases of COVID-19 increase in our community, so does anxiety associated with the pandemic.  The mental health effects of COVID-19 are as important to address as the physical health effects. To aid individuals and communities during this time, the ReACH Center will be compiling a range of resources and information on our COVID-19 page

Local Census Response Rate

Are you interested in seeing how many people in your community are responding to the 2020 Census?  As of August 11th the national self-response rate of the 2020 Census is 63.4%. The self-response rate for Texas is 58.5%, and the self-response rate in Bexar County is 62.5%. Stay up to date with self response rates from across the U.S. on the Census Bureau website.

The work of the TACKLE HIV/HCV team, led by Waridibo Allison, MD, PhD was featured in the October 2019 edition of the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program CAREAction Newsletter.  The TACKLE HIV/HCV program integrates hepatitis C virus (HCV) care into HIV care through the use of the Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO)TM telementoring model.

ReACH Core Scholar Waridibo Allison, MD, PhD was honored with the 2018 Institute for Integration of Medicine and Science (IIMS) Outstanding Community Researcher - Community Engagement Hero Award at the 2018 IIMS Community Engagement Symposium on September 29, 2018.

Dr. Wari Allison received a 2018 Community Engagement Small Project Grant from the UT Health San Antonio Institute for Integration of Medicine & Science (IIMS) for her project titled "RACE to STOP HCV (Research Activity and Community Engagement to Screen, Treat and Organize Prevention for Hepatitis C" in collaboration with the Southwest Border Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas Community Health Center.
