ReACH Center Population Health Postdoctoral Fellowship

With funding from the UT System Collaborative on Population Health Innovation and Improvement and the Center for Research to Advance Community Health (ReACH), UT Health San Antonio is creating a new 2-year post-doctoral fellowship in population health. Eligible applicants are individuals who have received a doctoral degree and who are pursuing additional research and training in order to have better skills to pursue a career in academia, research or any other field.  For more information click here.

South Texas Area Health Education Centers Launch AHEC Scholars Program

South Texas AHEC Scholars Program

The five South Texas Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) are launching an AHEC Scholars program for students from various health related professions such as public health, medicine, dentistry, nursing, social work, dental hygiene, occupational therapy, physical therapy and community health workers.  The two-year program is designed to provide team-based interprofessional practice experience in community based organizations and clinical settings while students are still in school. Each year of the program AHEC Scholars will be expected to complete 40 hours of self-directed online learning modules focused on six core topic areas: Interprofessional Educations, Behavioral Health Integration, Social Determinants of Health, Cultural Competency, Practice Transformation and Current and Emerging Health Issues.  In addition to the online modules AHEC Scholars will complete 40 hours of team-based interprofessional practical experience each year.  The online application for the program closes on August 15, 2018.  For more information about the AHEC Scholars Program click here.
